The findings revealed that when the forearm warmers were worn, the subjects’ hand temperature increased from 50 to 55 degrees Fahrenheit. Importantly, this five-degree increase in temperature led to a remarkable 50% improvement in dexterity. Cold weather can adversely affect synovial fluid in joints, which plays a critical role in movement. The heat generated by the forearm warmers appears to help maintain this fluid within its ideal range.
